MR. JOHN DUECK of Coaldale, beloved husband of Mrs. Elvira Dueck passed away at the Coaldale Health Care Centre on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the age of 86 years.

John was born in Orenburg, Russia on March 29, 1923. With his parents he later immigrated to Canada, settling down in the Coaldale area, where he began farming as a young man. He married Elvira Kornelsen in Coaldale on July 25, 1948 and they farmed for many years until they retired in 1989. Upon retirement, John and Elvira moved to the town of Coaldale where they have resided ever since.

John has been a lifelong member of the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church.

Besides his loving wife Elvira, John is survived by his 2 daughters; 7 sons; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his sisters Susie Epp, Helen Dueck, Tina Janz and brother Peter.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, on Monday, January 18, 2010, at the COALDALE MENNONITE BRETHREN CHURCH. 2114 - 18 St., Coaldale, Alberta, with Pastor Randy Dueck and Corny Braun officiating. Internment will take place in the Coaldale Cemetery.
