SEPTEMBER 16, 1955 - SEPTEMBER 9, 2009
IAN WILLIAM DUDLEY of Lethbridge passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on September 9, 2009, following a short, but very painful illness.
Ian was born in High River, and was raised in various communities in Southern Alberta, but Lethbridge was the place that he called home for the past 36 years.
Beloved brother, uncle and friend, Ian will be lovingly remembered by his sister Eleanor (Leonard) Rondeau of Granum, brother Bruce of Red Deer, along with numerous nieces and nephews; also his special 'Gutter Shop Family', Gary Farley and Judy Herdman, as well as his other many numerous friends.
Ian was predeceased by his parents Francis and Dorothy, brother Ken, and a nephew Cole.
Ian was much more than a loyal employee of the Gutter Shop for 30 years. He was a long standing member of the Elks (30+ years) as well as a Past District Deputy, also a member of the Army and Navy Club, and the Legion.
Ian was known to put in endless hours of volunteer work for these organizations. He was a generous and giving person who would help anyone with anything at the drop of a hat. He was instrumental in the Labor Day sports weekend for the Army and Navy, music, games, President of the Inter City Crib Club, as well as golf tournaments, BBQ's, working at bingos and much, much more. If there was a job or work to be done, you can guarantee that Ian was there wand usually the first in line. When time and his knee permitted it, Ian really enjoyed his games of curling and golf.
Ian had his daily meals at Michelle's (Liz's Lunches) and will be missed by the staff and 'regulars'. He also very much enjoyed his beer and fellowship with his many friends at his clubs.
We will all miss his goofy grin and hearty laughter, and all his wonderful efforts that he put forth for his family, clubs and charities. Ian, we will never forget you; this is just farewell until we meet again.
A Celebration of Ian's life will be held at 2:00pm, on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the ARMY AND NAVY CLUB, 515 - 5 Ave., S., Lethbridge, AB.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Tributes in Ian's name may be made to the ""March of Dimes"" c/o the ANAF, 517 - 5 Ave., S., Lethbridge, AB.
