Dorothy Holmes

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of DOROTHY ELIZABETH HOLMES (nee Legge) beloved wife, mother and grandmother, on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the age of 79 years.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Andy; children Ken (Judy), Janet (Gary) Savage and Patti Leeb; grandchildren Brandi (Jeremy), Jennifer, Crystal, Jeffrey, Jessie, Samantha, Brett and Taylor; brothers and sister-in-laws Jim (Barb) Legge, Ron (Lynne) Legge, Vivian Holmes, Bev Holmes, Anne Legge; Marjorie Legge and Betty Legge; as well as numerous niece and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Horace and Maude Legge, brothers and sisters Ethel (Dennis) McCormack, Roy Legge, Bob Legge and Stan Legge.

Dorothy was born in Lethbridge on January 26, 1927. Growing up, ""Little Chich"" was the affectionate nickname given to her by her family. She married Andy on August 7, 1948 and together they enjoyed 58 years crafting a loving relationship. They were often found camping, supporting the Lion's Club and working in a family business, but Dorothy's family came before all else. She always made sure that there was fresh bread for all - including the neighbourhood birds - and fudgesicles in the freezer for the grandchildren. Her love of animals was evident in the pets she cared for and her generous donations to the Humane Society. She will be missed by her pet cat, Sassy.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St. South, Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Larry D. Hankinson officiating.
