“Chick”, as she was known by to her sisters Windy & Duddy,  “Donna”  as known to her friends, Mom to Randy, Ninamarie, Kerry and myself and “Grams” to most of you here.

Mom grew up in Mountain View & met our dad in Waterton Lakes after WWII. She started married life December 3, 1946, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and shortly after moved to a farm south of Cardston where she helped Dad farm.
My earliest lesson from my mom was not to take static from anyone as she fried a rooster for dinner that had chased her across the barnyard. Her threat, "Just wait til your father gets home!", always put a real scare into us kids!!

Over her 93 years Mom lived in Cardston, Glenwood, Fort McLeod, back to Cardston & Waterton Lakes, on to Sparwood, and in the 1970’s moved to Golden. She lost Dad in Okotoks in 1993, moved to Armstrong and then back to Lethbridge & Coaldale.
She was a hands-on farm wife, a restaurant owner, a bookkeeper, a bank teller where she was known as "Donna Help" because when tellers did not balance, she was the person to find the error.

Mom was very proud of her large vegetable gardens and her canning. We all enjoyed her famous Christmas cakes, pudding and jams. Mom kept herself busy with many hobbies. Many of us still have the dough dolls she made and sold.
Our sister, Ninamarie spent many hours visiting and (losing) at cards during Mom's later years in Lethbridge & Coaldale.
My favorite memories of Mom are the nine years she & Peggy, Kerry's mother-in-law, travelled with Dougie & I to many resorts in Mexico.
Mom was soft-spoken, thoughtful, humorous, concerned about family & friends & always saw the best in others.
MOM, we will forever miss you. God Bless.
