Diana Hurkens

HURKENS, DIANA (NEE VANDEHEI) of Picture Butte, AB, beloved wife of the late Garry Hurkens passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the age of 71 years.

Diana was the oldest of 8 children born to Catherine and John Vandehei. Mom loved all children and because of that she chose to drive a school bus for over 20 years. When dad retired, he and mom moved to Lethbridge, AB to be closest to their children and grandchildren.

Diana is survived by her 3 daughters Cathy (Richard) Moore, Rita (Bruce) Bouwsema, Diana Hurkens (Reurink); son Garry (Nancy) Hurkens; grandchildren Garry, Christin (Ryan), Jennifer, Diana, Chelsea, Alexandra, Sarah, Christopher, Timothy, Cheryl, Jordan, Aaron, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Besides her loving husband Garry, Diana was predeceased by her parents and her 2 brothers.

A Visitation/Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 7:00pm, at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, (TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED TUESDAY), at the OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave., S., Lethbridge, AB.
