MRS. MARIA DEWEERT-WOOLLEY of Lethbridge passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the age of 88 years.

Maria was born December 24, 1922 in Warffum Holland. She married Jan DeWeert on March 8, 1945. They had three children in Holland before they immigrated to the Taber area in 1951, where they then had a fourth child. They lived in Vauxhall and moved to Lethbridge in 1965. Maria had many health challenges, surviving them all. All who knew her saw her determination and strength of spirit. She had a great zest for life and strong will to survive.
Maria remarried in 1995 to Dennis Woolley.

Maria is survived by her two daughters Barbara (Andy) Koopmans, and Betty (Gus) Teerling; two sons William DeWeert, and Dick (Joan) DeWeert; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and sister Barbara Brands of Abbottsford, BC.

Maria is predeceased by her four sisters; one brother; first husband Jan DeWeert in 1984, and second husband Dennis Woolley in 1998.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, June 20, 2011 at MARANTHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 260 McGill Blvd West, Lethbridge with Reverend Tony Maan officiating, A private family graveside was held prior to service at Mountain View Cemetery.
