Desmond John Derrick SCOTT, beloved son, husband and father, peacefully passed away at the St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the age of 46 years with his family by his side.

Desmond (Des) is the dearly beloved husband of Nadine SCOTT and father of Jada SCOTT. Over their 17 years of marriage, Des and Nadine enjoyed traveling and spending most of their time in the company of their loving families.

Des, son of David and Omega Scott, was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta along with his brothers Keith, and Syd (Deb) and their children Alexander and Kendra. Des is also survived by his sister Denise (Garvin) Abraham and their children Karen (Alfred) Purcel, Patrina, Stacy (Omar) Pitts, Joshua and Roland; as well as his great nephews and niece; J'gai, Teon, Kariel, Jayden and Nathan.

Des will be sorely missed by his immediate family, including his parents, in-laws, friends, and other relatives living throughout the world.

Des worked for Emco Ltd. as a Quotation & Inside Sales Representative in their Calgary and Lethbridge offices for over 10 years.

As an avid Calgary Stampeders fan, Des rarely missed a game or a chance to cheer on his team, especially when playing against the Riders. He took up golf since the family relocated from Calgary to Lethbridge in 2009, and throughout his school years, Des enjoyed playing volleyball as well.

Family and friends are invited to Des’s Celebration of Life on November 12, at 1pm at the Millican-Ogden Community Association Hall, 6901 20a St SE, Calgary, AB T2C 0R5. As per Des’s wishes, he has asked that all in attendance dress in happy, festive (Stampeders) colours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 – 10th Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 2M7.
