Daryl Huson
Service Details
Mrs. Daryl Huson of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the age of 76 years.
Daryl was born on March 10, 1947, in Charlottetown, PEI. At the age of five, Daryl started crisscrossing the country as an “Airforce Brat”. After graduating from high school in Chatham, New Brunswick in 1966 she moved along with her twin sister Cheryl out to Edmonton, Alberta, where she met and later married Joe Huson from House Mountain, Alberta. During this time, they moved to Zama Lake and welcomed their sons Joey in 1968 and Jay in 1970. After living in several places, she settled in Lethbridge in the late 90s and started working for the Salvation Army thrift store until she retired in 2012.
She enjoyed her TV crime dramas, always had a puzzle book or two on the go and loved spending time with her family. Her biggest joy came from time spent with her son Jay and his family especially on their vacations to Disneyland.
She was known for her easy-going nature and ability to get along with anyone. Although she lived a very simple life, the generosity she shared will continue to ripple through the world long after our good-byes.
Daryl is survived by her son Jay (Paula) Huson, grandchildren Jarius and Jobe and their mother Joann Matvichuk, brother Dana (Diane) Hume, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Daryl is predeceased by her son Joey, parents Don and Louise Hume, sisters Cheryl Dahl, Judith (Paul) Copp, Jill (Pat) Nickason, and brother Lynn Hume.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday March 10, 2024, in Lethbridge, Alberta.
