MR. DARREN COOK, son of the late Ray and Iris Cook, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre after losing his battle with cancer, at the age of 66 years.
Darren was born and raised in Lethbridge along with 8 brothers and sisters, making him the 6th child and youngest boy in the family.
Darren enjoyed his family and kept himself busy working as anything from a handyman to a machine operator. Darren will always be remembered by his giant dog (Clyde), and you could often see him on his bicycle around town.
Darren is predeceased by his parents, Ray and Iris Cook, sister Linda, and brothers Calvin and Peter.
He is survived by his sister, Diane (Andy) Donato, and their sons, Jason; Trevor; Brian (Jean) Cook; and Gary (Debbie) Cook and their sons, Ryan (Winnie) and Glenn (Liz); daughter, Jane (Terry) Kirkman, and their children, Jason (Joleen) and Tara (Rob); daughter, Janice Cook, and her children, Peter and Sherry; Susan Lutwick and her children, Kendall (Matt) and Justin; Sharon (Kurt) Veer and their son, Nickolas; and Patricia (Gary) Pohl and their sons, Corey (Kelsey) and Logan. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
In place of a funeral service, the family will be holding a private ceremony.
