Mary G. Cook 1923 ~ 2014 Mrs. Mary G. Cook of Lethbrige, beloved wife of the late Mr. Gilbert Cook, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the age of 91 years. ""The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever"" (Psalm 23) Mary was born on March 17, 1923 in the Ukraine. She married Gilbert Cook on January 17, 1943 in Lethbridge where they continued to reside. Mary would like to thank all of her friends who helped her while she was a widow. She had her mother for a long time, which filled her time until her mother passed away on April 28, 1996. She was beside her at her passing. Mary's wishes were to thank the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Good Samaritans Linden View in Taber, who cared for her; her friends who came to visit her; also to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels for all their help. Besides her loving husband Gilbert, who passed away in 1970, Mary was predeceased by her son Gilbert Jr., September 2006; and infant daughter, Cathy; two infant sons, Gordon and Allan; and her parents, Peter Borhyn, on August 9, 1953 and Katherine Borhyn on April 28, 1996. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB. Mary will be laid to rest in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery immediately following.
