CONNIE SILLITO of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Floyd Sillito, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the age of 90 years.
Connie was born November 26, 1918 in Raymond, AB. She grew up on a farm near Carmangay. Connie had many skills, and she especially enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and cross stitch. Up until her illness she gladly knitted squares for ""Blankets Canada"". Connie supported children through a Foster Care Program for over 20 years.
On a personal note, she was an avid curler, but also liked camping and fishing.
Besides her loving husband Floyd, Connie is survived by her son Larry (Marlaine) Stettner; stepsons Peter H. (Rita) Versluys, Mark, Rion and Morgan Sillito and families; grandchildren Kevin Stettner, Peter M. (Nicole) Versluys, and Laura Versluys and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Maxine Bates and Marlene (Mike) Aldoff; sisters-in-law Barb Eggar and Joy Laczo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Connie was predeceased by her parents Chris and Mary Eggar; first husband Edward H. Stettner; second husband Arie (Pete) Versluys; brother Raymond Eggar; sister Charlotte Hoffarth and brothers-in-law Frank Bates and William Hoffarth.
She will be sadly missed by all of her friends at Garden View Lodge where she spent her last few years.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, Alberta, with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating. Interment to follow in the Bowville Cemetery.
