STAN COCKERILL

1928 - 2012

STAN COCKERILL passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on April 21, 2012. Three generations of his family were fortunate to say goodbye to him, and we will truly miss him a great deal.

Stan was predeceased by his parents and one sister; his oldest sister Marie Ness is the only surviving member of the family group which fostered his outstanding work ethic and common-sense approach to getting the job done. He is also survived by his wife Phyllis and five children. He really enjoyed rolling down the road in his tractor-trailer, and continued to tell stories about his time at Purity Dairy and Palm Dairy until shortly before his death.

Thank you to his co-workers for helping him do work involving long hours but gave him a sense of achievement. Stan loved the outdoors throughout his life. Many of our best family memories centre around camping trips to the foothills west of Lethbridge.

After retirement, Stan found field training for hunting dogs rewarding, and also made friends who helped improve his quality of life. Our family wishes to thank the staff at CRH for helping Stan cope with serious limitations to his lifestyle, dating back almost 2 years.
Stan's immediate family will be arranging a cremation ceremony through Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

We hope his friends in the community can join us at a Celebration of His Life to be announced at a later date. Stan never enjoyed frills, so please do not send flowers. We suggest that anyone wishing to honor his memory make a donation to the CRH Foundation, 960-19th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1W5.
