CLAYTON ""Clayt"" PLAYFORD died on June 10, 2012, at home in Lethbridge, Alberta, just hours after celebrating his 83rd birthday with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Micki Playford, nee Mildred Bush of Lethbridge, daughters Joanne (Mel) Rodgers of Lethbridge, Cheryle (Robert Tufts) Playford of Calgary, sons Lee (Joan) of Sudbury, John of Ft. McMurray, and Dan (Laura) of Lac La Biche. He leaves behind his sister Eileen Carr (Travel Buddy Bert) of Peterborough and brother, Jack of Charlton. He is also survived by adoring grandchildren Pam, Colin, Chris, Jolene, Schuyler, Harlan, Ashlin, Lindsay, Thalia, Carla, Cory, Gina, Daly, and Landon, as well as eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Annie and his father, Norman.

Clayton was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1929. He was a logger and a sawyer, a hard-rock miner and a Harley rider, a pilot and an industrial mechanic, a family man and a community organizer, a world traveler and an entrepreneur. He had a ready warm smile, a passion for life, and a willingness to embrace new ideas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Valerie Martell-Kostiuk, officiating. A Memorial Service will also be held this summer in Charlton, Ontario.
