Charlotte Williams

CHARLOTTE WILLIAMS beloved wife and friend of 56 years to George Williams passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital (LRH) on Sunday, March 9, 2009.

She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Stella Finlayson of Brandon, Manitoba.

Charlotte will be sorely missed and mourned by her husband George, daughter Gaye Metz of Lethbridge and granddaughter Michelle Morgan (Michael) of Victoria, BC.

Charlotte is survived by her sibling Lloyd Finlayson (Jackie) of Calgary, AB, Orville Finlayson (Joanne) of Calgary, AB, Katie Deverac (Victor) of Calgary, AB, Dwight Finlayson of Brandon, MB, Donna Cotter of Brandon, MB, and Colin Finlayson of Brandon, MB.

Charlotte graduated from St. Michael's academy in Brandon, MB followed by nurse training at the Winnipeg General Hospital where she received her registered nurse designation (RN). She also received the psychiatric nurse designation (PN) and was awarded the Blanche Eugenie Baragar Medal at graduation for being first in her class. She also held a Lieutenant's Commission in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp. (Reserve).

She nursed as various locations in Canada, namely Brandon, MB, North Bay, ON, Sudbury, ON, Calgary, AB, and Lethbridge, AB. She retired from Alberta Social Service - mental health- in 1992.

Charlotte enjoyed playing tennis, dancing, classical and semi-classical music. Her relaxation time consisted of playing the organ, enjoying her pet toy poodle and observing and feeding different species of birds.

Our family extends sincere thank-you to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff for their considerate and compassionate health care during her stay at the LRH.

The family will hold a memorial family reunion and celebration of Charlotte's life at a later date.

In Charlotte's memory, donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
