Shirley Chalifoux

1951 ~ 2016

Shirley Ann Chalifoux (nee Flemmer) of Medicine Hat, AB, beloved mother of three children, passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the age of 64 years.

Shirley was born to Walter and Rosie Flemmer on December 22, 1951 in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

She was a loving devoted mother to her three children. She grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta then moved to Calgary, Alberta where she spent the next 30 years raising her children and working. The highlight of her working career was being a school bus driver. She loved to laugh and sing with the children. After 30 years in Calgary, she moved to Raymond, Alberta where she fought a lengthy battle with cancer and spent the remainder of her days. Shirley loved to do puzzles and spend time with her family. It brought her much joy even in her weakest moments. Shirley’s fierce independence and love of life gave her the strength to persevere through her illness and all of life’s challenges with a smile on her face and a passion in her heart. Shirley has been a pillar of strength for her family and all whom she came in contact with her.

Shirley is survived by her two daughters Damara and Lisa (Richard) Chalifoux; son Greyson (Cassandra) Chalifoux; grandchildren Alysha Chalifoux, Tenisha Chalifoux, De’Shaun Chalifoux, Zoie Chalifoux, and Eirwyn Chalifoux; brothers Floyd Flemmer and Stan Flemmer; as well as numerous nieces, nephew and their families.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, on Friday, January 15, 2016 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Rodger Halvorsen officiating.
