Margaret "Maggie" Cavers

Official Obituary of

13/10/1956 - to - 9/3/2025

Margaret “Maggie” Cavers of Diamond City, beloved wife of the late Don Cavers, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Chinook Regional Hospital on March 9th, 2025, at the age of 68 years.

Maggie was born to Earl and Honey Delaney on October 13, 1956, in New Brunswick. At the age of 18, she moved to Alberta, embarking on a journey that would shape her life and the lives of those around her. In 1976, she welcomed her first child, Mandy, followed by her son Ritchie just two years later, as the family settled in Coaldale. Maggie balanced various jobs, from realtor to service industry roles, always with a smile and a warm heart. In 1987, Maggie welcomed her second son, Larry, followed by daughter Samantha fifteen months later. The family eventually found their home in Diamond City, where Maggie's passion for the golf and curling service industry flourished. She became a cherished figure at the Lethbridge Curling Club and numerous golf courses throughout southern Alberta, known for her infectious laughter and playful spirit. Maggie loved playing jokes and creating joy for her staff and customers alike.

A collector at heart, she had a remarkable array of treasures, from model cars and Hot Wheels to hockey cards. A diehard Montreal Canadiens fan, she especially adored the Mahovlich brothers. Maggie’s work ethic was unmatched; she consistently put both people and animals before herself, exemplifying selflessness in every aspect of her life. Her stubbornness was legendary, but so was her capacity for love. Maggie’s greatest joy came from her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.

She is survived by her daughters Mandy (Dave) Mackenzie, and Kayleigh, Sam (Brandon) Jaymee, and Breanna along with her sons Ritchie (Kourtney and Charlee) and Larry (Daxxen). She is also survived by eleven sisters and one brother, all of whom carry her spirit in their hearts.

Maggie was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Honey Delaney, her brother Billy Delaney, and her nephew Austin Delaney.

A Celebration of Maggie’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the incredible woman she was.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lethbridge and district Humane Society or to a charity of your choice in her name.

Maggie’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.
