MRS. CATHERINE ""KAY"" PLONKA of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Joseph Plonka, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the age of 91 years.
Kay was born in Cedoux, SK on July 12, 1916 to Albert and Polly Piwowarczyk. She was raised on the family farm near Cedoux, SK. Kay married Joe Plonka on October 6, 1936 in Weyburn, SK. She moved to Lethbridge in 1951 where she resided ever since. Kay did some part time work at the Catholic Central High School for 8 years.
Kay is survived by her son Joseph (Christina) Plonka of Cranbrook, BC and 7 grandchildren and their families.
Besides her beloved husband Joseph, Kay was predeceased by her parents Albert and Polly Piwowarczyk; daughter Alice Droppo; brother Walter Piwowarczyk; sisters Bertha Zyla, Anne Tokarz, Agnes Strycharz and Nellie Strycharz.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge with Deacon Cliff Bogdan officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
