Carolyn Currie

Mrs. Carolyn Currie of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Mr. Douglas Currie passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the age of 75 years.

Carolyn was born September 2, 1943 in Hamilton, Ontario to Charles & Isabelle Slote. She was the eldest of four children; two brothers and one sister. Carolyn grew up in the rural community of Copetown. Carolyn was the proud mother to her children Elizabeth & Robert and was blessed to become a foster parent to many, even opening her own daycare in her own home.

Carolyn moved to Alberta in 2004 with her second husband Doug. Carolyn made many friends in Alberta mostly through playing cards. She especially loved cribbage and taught her great-granddaughter Harmony to play.

Grammie was a very big part of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives and will deeply missed.

Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Doug Currie; brothers Jim & Richard and grandson Richard Williams.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Christine Shibish; children Elizabeth Williams and Robert Barthorpe; grandchildren Chantelle Williams, Danielle Williams and Alexander Barthorpe; great-grandchildren Harmony Williams, Dray Hann, Brooklyn Hann, Ellie Williams and Brady Dalrymple, as well as her many friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. For those who wish, you may pay your respects 1 hour prior.
