Carmen Dorchak

CARMEN DORCHAK passed away peacefully at Piyami Place, Picture Butte on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the age of 84 years.

Carmen is lovingly remembered by her children Lynda (Hans) Lisowicz, Sylvia (Lorne) Filatoff, Lorraine (Gordon) Greene and Larry Dorchak, beloved grandchildren Jason Lisowicz, Brian and Brent Filatoff, Scott and Denise Greene, Tamara, Kristy and Sharla Dorchak and one great-granddaughter Hailee Olson. She was predeceased by her husband Steve in 2002.

Carmen was born and raised in Retlaw, AB. She married Steve in 1946 and together they farmed at Enchant until they retired to Lethbridge in 1981. Time on the farm was spent raising a family, tending to a big garden, driving grain truck and finding time to bake all of the family favorites like butterhorns and cinnamon buns. Carmen was active in the Enchant Community Association and the C.W.L. After retirement Carmen enjoyed playing Bingo, handicapping the horse races and camping in Enchant. Most of all she loved the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and making ""Grandma's Spaghetti"" for Sunday dinners.

Vigil Rites ""Prayers"" will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 7, 2008 at ST. MARTHA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd West, Lethbridge, with Father Fernando Genogaling celebrant. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
