MRS. KATHLEEN (KAY) BURCHAK (nee Yates), beloved wife to Donald of Lethbridge, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, December 22, 2008 at the age of 87 years.

Kay was born on May 21, 1921 in Milk River, the eldest daughter to David and Mary Yates. She was raised and educated in the Twin River and Del Bonita area. As a young girl she grew up helping on the family homestead. She moved to Lethbridge in her early twenties and met and married Don on July 13, 1957. Together they raised their two daughters Pat and Bev.
Kay will be well remembered for her years working at Perlux Cleaners on 5th Street S. She later worked at Merchant Prince Emporium and as a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. Kay was a loving wife, Mother and Grandmother. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Besides her loving husband Donald, Kay is survived by her daughters Patricia (Terry) Houtekamer and Beverly (Allen) Hosack, and grandchildren Alexandra, Travis and Desirae Hosack. Besides her parents, Kay is predeceased by her Uncle Bob and Aunt Maria Yates and her three sisters Elsie, Margaret and Mary.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 9:00pm on Friday, December 26, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Reverend Larry D. Hankinson, officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Family Plot.
