Service Details
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Brian Edward Basarowich. Brian passed away at the Keho Lake Campground, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 62 years.
Brian was predeceased by his mother, Caroline Basarowich and his grandparents, Annie and Nick Basarowich and Anne and Jacob Kulyk.
He is survived by his wife Lois; son, Donavan (Nathalia); daughter, Olivia (Evan), granddaughter Rosaley; and his father, Edward. He is also survived by his brother, Glen (Kristine); sister Cheryl (Rick) Gensiorek; his nephews, Nick, Jacob, Dylan, and Tim; and niece, Kyla.
Brian was born September 19, 1961, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He grew up in Transcona where he got his first job at the age of eleven. He developed a strong work ethic at an early age that lasted his whole life. One of his happiest days was when he became a father to his son Donavan in 1990 and his daughter Olivia in 1993. He went back to university at the age of thirty-three, where he graduated with Honors and was Valedictorian of his class. Shortly after meeting his future wife Lois, they moved and married in Lethbridge, Alberta. Brian spent many years in the agricultural business where he was revered by his peers. Brian retired at an early age and spent many winters at his home in Mesa, Arizona and most recently in Yuma, Arizona. He also had a remarkably successful run over the years at various casinos and loved to spend time in Vegas. Additionally, Brian was an avid Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets fan for his entire adult life.
He will be sadly missed, and will live in our hearts forever.
A private Celebration of Life to honour Brian will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
