It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lynn Buchanan who passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge Alberta on August 3rd, 2026, at the age of 62 years.
Bonnie was born on May 27, 1964, and made her home in Milk River, Alberta, where she built a life filled with friendships, laughter, and countless memories.
Bonnie had a spicy yet lovely personality that made her unforgettable.
She often spoke fondly of the visits she shared with her many friends and enjoyed being part of the Border Rascals social club of Coutts, participating in their events and enjoying the friendships and good times that came with them.
Bonnie spent 17 years working at the Duty Free shop, where she touched the lives of many people. Her coworkers, customers, and the daily truckers who came to know her will all feel her absence. Although her circle of close friends may have been smaller than some, Bonnie had a way of leaving an impression on everyone she encountered. Many will remember her personality, her humour, her willingness to help, and the conversations they shared with her over the years. She was the kind of person that made work feel like family. She will forever hold a special place in the Duty Free Family.
Holidays were something Bonnie truly loved. No matter how big or small the occasion, she would decorate and dress for the part. She embraced the spirit of every holiday, even the ones she claimed not to like, such as Valentine’s Day. Those little traditions were part of what made Bonnie uniquely Bonnie.
Bonnie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Greg Buchanan; her mother, Ida Perch; and her father, Paul Perch.
Bonnie leaves behind a lifetime of memories and countless people whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by her friends, coworkers, customers, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
A Celebration of Life for Bonnie will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Coutts Recreation Centre in Coutts, Alberta, 300 3rd Street.
Family, friends, coworkers, and all who knew Bonnie are welcome to come together to share memories, stories, and celebrate the life of a truly unforgettable woman.
