MOM
Time slips by, and life goes on....
But from our hearts your never gone.
We think about you always.
We talk about you too.
We have so many memories.
But we wish we still had you!
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of MOM. After a long courageous battle with cancer, another angel was called home.
Mom was born in Lethbridge and raised her 5 children here and loved them all dearly. She was a proud grandma and great-grandma whom she spoiled heavily. “Toonie Grandma”.
Brenda is survived by her 5 children Chandell Boe (Shawn and Amanda James), Steven Boe (Trish), (Pamela, Eric, Justin), Candace Boe (Kevin Kohinsky, Teaira and Tristan Plant); Daphne Boe, Shaundra Boe (Kayla and Riley Reeves, Alexis Gregg); as well as 5 great-granddaughters Harley, Madison, Haley, Katie, Emily and 6 great-grandson’s Bradley, Aspen, Kypten, Ethan, Jasper and Jayden. Brenda is also survived by her brother Larry Batalden (Donna), Gordon Dickout; 3 sisters Bev Pecht, Judy Baker, Peggy Kipnik (Roy), Connie Dickout (wife of brother Allen) Tom Callahan (husband of Debi) and long time best friend of 58 years Vicki who we all consider family; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents Jolane Vanderhulst (Jake); brothers Barry and Allen Dickout; sisters Debi Lachuk and baby Jolane; as well as two nephews Billy Baker and Brennan Windrum.
Brenda worked for St. Michaels Health Centre for 43 years, in the Recreational department as a Therapy Assistant. Mom loved her job and working with seniors. Mom was an avid camper and spent a lot of time in the mountains with her family. She loved her dogs Emma and Bailey. There were many good times and good food when you would stop to see Mom. Brenda was well known for her Cabbage Rolls, Meat Pies and Perogies. You never went hungry at Mom’s.
After a long battle against cancer, mom spent the last 5 years doing clinical trials to help get cancer medication approved for others fighting the same battle. It was her hope to find a cure, by doing the clinical trials of several medications she helped others!! That was our Mom and we are proud, although Mom never found the cure she was looking for we hope the many trips to Calgary will help others in their battle they face daily against this terrible disease.
We would like to extend a special thanks to all who have provided support over the past few years, we truly have an amazing support system in all our family and friends.
Due to the pandemic we have chosen to have a celebration of Moms life at a later date.
