MR. WILLIAM ""BILL"" HUCIK of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Violet Hucik, passed away at St. Therese Villa on Friday, February 26, 2010, at the age of 88 years.
Born on October 23, 1921 in the Chapel Rock district north of Burmis, Alberta, where Bill lived and ranched. He met and married Violet Battel in 1951. In 1956 they moved to Lethbridge, and it was during this time that he became a longstanding employee of C.P Rail for 30 years, until retiring in 1986.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, bowling and playing crib. He loved sharing his passion of nature and the outdoors with his family, but in particular with his grandchildren Megan and Mckinley Hucik, and Rylan and Jace James. He was a grandparent who was very proud of all of their achievements.

Besides his loving wife Vi, Bill is survived by his loving son Rick (Eva) Hucik, and his loving daughter Donna (Doug) James, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Mary; step-father Martin Evans; sister Emily (Mike) Leskosky; brothers Peter (Jennie) Hucik, Louis (Helen) Hucik, infant sister Annie.

The family members would like to thank the doctors and staff at Bridges, VON, 5B Floor, and St. Therese Villa for their care and compassion. A special thanks to Bill and Vi's extended family at West Highland Estates for their support and companionship.
Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm, on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave., S., Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave., S., Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Raul Hernandez celebrant. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Mountain View Cemetery.
