Barend (Bob) Biesheuvel of Granum, passed away from pancreatic cancer at the Chinook Regional Hospital on October 11, 2010.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory his wife Rickie and his only son Arie (Julie Magson) Biesheuvel of Fort Macleod. He is also survived by his sister Janny Bos-Biesheuvel of Doorwerth, Netherlands and her children, and his brother Tjaco (Wilma) Biesheuvel of Badhoevedorp, Netherlands. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Everet Schiebout of Barons, and his sister-in-law Joanne Hofman of Middleville, Michigan, and their families, and her daughters, as well as Rickie's six children and their families.

Bob was born at Rijk Haarlemmerrmeer, Netherlands on March 20, 1930. On September 23, 1947 he arrived in Canada with the Marie Nieboer family as the first post-war immigrants to see Alberta's prairies. Bob worked for various farmers until 1982 when he joined his son Arie ""on the truck"" following the death of his first wife Lena (Van Trinderen), 1981.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Arie and Elizabeth Biesheuvel, his first wife Lena, in-laws Gerrit Stallinga, Jan Bos, Tonia Schiebout and Jennie and Archie Van Dellen.

A private interment service will be held for family and close friends at 11:00 am on Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Enchant Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, October 15, 2010 at the NOBLEFORD CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 522 Highway Avenue, Nobleford, with Reverend Kevin Jordan, officiating.
