Bev Rhodes

Passed away peacefully on December 24, 2007, BEVERLY ""BEV"" JOHN RHODES, at the age of 78 years, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Joanne Rhodes.

Bev was born January 9, 1929 in Princeton, BC to Jack and Agnes Rhodes. He grew up and attended school in Pinceton and then later moved to St. Thomas to attend a technical school for automotive mechanics. Bev's passion for repairing cars and machinery had him employed for over forty years with companies such as COHO and Cook paving and finally South Rock paving were Bev retired at 65. Be enjoyed his retirement by meeting the guys for morning coffee to ""solve all the world's problems"" and his regular Sunday breakfasts with Tom Stang. Pincher Creek was a very big part of Bev's life. He frequently visited his very dear friends Rick and Edie Clark, where he loved to tinker in Rick's yard and babysit their animals. Bev's kind and compassionate soul left a lasting impression on everyone. Bev's sense of humor and passion for life showed through his smile and the bounce in his step. Bev will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Bev is survived by his children Shelley (Gordon) Glass of Calgary, Dale Rhodes of BC, Sandy (Michael) Ballman of Lethbridge, Kim (Jeff) Coolidge of Lethbridge, Bonnie Joan and step son Calvin Duder of Lethbridge from previous marriages; grandchildren Jonathon and Jason Glass, Chad and Ami Ballman and Tamara Duder; brother Ted (Marie) Rhodes of Calgary; sister Olive (David) Scott of Courtney, BC; special companion Cecile; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bev was predeceased by his parents Jack and Agnes.

A Visitation will be held between 7PM & 8PM on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, December 28, 2007 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, with Reverend Lois Punton, officiating. Cremation to follow.

Memorial donations may be made in Bev's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2M7.
