Beth Lavina Walker, widow of Reverend Peter Walker, passed away in glory on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Fairmont Extendicare in Lethbridge, Alberta.


Besides her loving husband Reverend Peter Walker, Beth was predeceased by her son George Walker, brothers Bill Travalia, Walter Travalia and sister Evelyn Herter; son-in-law John McCracken.


Beth was born in Taber on June 28, 1924 to Pietro and Florence Travalia, raised and educated in the Coalhurst area. She married Peter on June 20, 1944, in Lethbridge. Together they raised their five children George, Ted (Anita), Marilyn (Sid) Kok, Donald (June) Walker and Donna McCracken.


Beth worked as an egg grader for Burns and Co. for several years before and after her marriage. She was a lifetime member of the United Church UCW women’s church group. Beth was a faithful minister’s wife who followed and served from church to church. The Crowsnest Pass, Jarvie, Fort Macleod, Blackfalds, Tofield, Foremost and Vulcan. They retired from the ministry in 1989, bought a house in Lethbridge and became members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Mom resided at Black Rock Terrace, The View and her final home was Fairmont Extendicare until her passing.


Through the years, Beth’s family grew from 5 children to 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren.


A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at ST. ANDREWS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1818 – 5 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Daniel Surya, officiating. A private family graveside service prior to the church service will be held in the Archmount Cemetery.
