BERYL JANE PITCAIRN of Lethbridge passed away on January 19, 2012 at the age of 94 years, following a brief illness.
Beryl was predeceased by her cherished husband Keith Sharman Pitcairn, and recently by her sisters Edith Hill and Myrtle Baker. Beryl's humor and friendship will be fondly remembered by her niece Barbara Hillman and Barb's husband Eric.
Born in Medicine Hat and educated in Lethbridge, Beryl moved to Montreal for a long and distinguished career as a stock broker with Nesbitt Burns. She and Keith retired to a forest acreage outside Hudson, PQ, then later moved to Victoria, BC to enjoy the sea. After Keith died Beryl moved to Lethbridge to be close to family.
Beryl had a passion for duplicate bridge, earning her silver Life Masters designation in 2000. She was an avid and accomplished tennis player in her youth and stayed physically active throughout her long and satisfying life.
At Beryl's request, following cremation an interment will take place at Keith's family plot in Lachute, PQ.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Barbara and Eric express sincere thanks to Dr. Kathy Yamashita, Beryl's home care nurses, and the staff at Columbia Assisted Living for their skilled care and warm kindness extended to Beryl in recent years.
