Hilda Bergmann 1933 ~ 2013

Mrs. Hilda Bergmann of Lethbridge passed away at Edith Cavell Care Centre on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the age of 80 years.

Hilda is survived by her children Julie (Russell) Dowson, Victor (Carol) Bergmann, Dorothy (Shane) Wright, Ernest (Connie) Bergmann, two sisters Martha Pauls and Wilhelmine (Minna) Schmidt, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband Henry (2011); parents Erich and Agneta Ratzlaff, sisters Helene and Frieda and brothers Peter, Gustav, Franz, and Bernhard.

Hilda was born in Wymyschile, Poland on September 15, 1933. She immigrated to Canada with her parents in October, 1948. The family initially settled in Acme, Alberta and shortly thereafter they moved to Linden, before moving to Coaldale in 1954. Hilda married Henry Bergmann in 1958. They raised their family in Coaldale and remained there for many years. Upon her retirement, Hilda and Henry moved to Lethbridge. In later years, Hilda and Henry travelled a little and they also enjoyed making trips to the mountains to go fishing. Hilda also volunteered for the Lethbridge food bank for a number of years. She especially enjoyed spending time and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge with Pastor John Moerman officiating. An interment will be held at the Coaldale Cemetery.
