Mrs. Barbara Wilson, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late David Arthur Wilson, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Edith Cavell Care Centre, at the age of 79 years.
Barb was born in Deep Cove, North Vancouver, British Columbia to Mary and Sydney King. Throughout her life, she called many places home. From Deep Cove, her life journey took her to Penticton, Claresholm, and even Ontario before she ultimately settled in Lethbridge, where she built her home and community.
Barb found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, cheering on her favourite hockey team, and above all, spending time with her family during Christmas gatherings.
Barb’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind. She treasured time spent with loved ones, especially during the holidays, and took great joy in watching her family grow over the years. Her resilience, stubbornness, and wonderful sense of humour shaped the lives of those around her, and she will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Kaylie (Kyle) Fix of Calgary and Marcie Main of Calgary; her five grandchildren, Alison (Tyler) Hitchmough, Katherine (Sydney) MacDonald, Maggie (Tanner) Lester, Georgia Curzon, and Iris Curzon. She also leaves behind her three great-grandchildren, Addison Lester, Henry Lester and Caleb Hitchmough.
Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Arthur Wilson, and by her parents, Mary and Sydney King.
In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, her family will celebrate her life privately. Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
