Barbara Riverside

BARBARA (TALLON) RIVERSIDE of Lethbridge passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the age of 61 years.

Barb was born in Rossland, BC and educated in Kimblerley, BC. Barb worked as a medical records transcriptionist - work she enjoyed and excelled in. Her fondest memories included camping and swimming with family in BC, and flying to larger cities and staying in 5 star hotels during long weekends. In 1977, she moved to Lethbridge, and did volunteer work at nursing homes and hospitals. Barb had a keen interest in current news and politics. She was an avid reader and is well known for her many thoughtful letters to the editor and political activism. She had a mighty spirit and strength of resolve.

Barb was predeceased by her parents, George and Margaret Tallon, and by her one love, Walter Hein. Barb is survived by her three older sisters, Shirley Wallace of Victoria BC, Georgia Morris (Howard Haney) of Lethbridge, and Mary (Rodney) Ell of Taber; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her many friends and family are invited to attend a Service to Honor Barbara at 11:00 am on Friday, June 17, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South , with Reverend Ron Harris officiating. Eulogies by Bridget Pastoor, MLA and Barb's sister Georgia Morris.

A private interment ceremony will follow on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Barb has requested donations be made to STARS Air Ambulance, P.O. Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 8M7 or a charity of one's choice.
