Barbara Polgar

Mrs. Barbara Rose Polgar of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Joseph Polgar, passed away in Taber at Good Samaritans Linden View on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the age of 85 years.

Barbara was born in Lethbridge at the Galt Hospital on May 11, 1939, to John Colon McNichol and Jessie Hughina McNichol (Staples). She was born into a large family of 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Barbara enjoyed a full life. She particularly enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, with her favorite places being Castle Mountain, Keho Lake and Payne Lake. In her later years she loved visiting and staying with her youngest son, Steven, and his family in Utah.

Barbara enjoyed her career as a Personal Care Assistant and loved the ladies she took care of. Serving in this capacity meant the world to her. She had a passion for collecting; the house was full of lead glass wares as well as unique and interesting dolls.

She is the loving mother of 5 children, Ron Papp (Sheila), Debbie Papp (Chris), Cecil Papp (Victoria), Joseph Polgar (Deceased) and Steven Polgar (Tina). She is also the beloved grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 11.

Barbara’s husband Joe Polgar pre-deceased her in 2021 and her first husband Joe Papp pre-deceased her in 1970.  

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints religion and enjoyed Sunday services and the fellowship of church membership.

She will be missed and lovingly remembered.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Monday, July 29, 2024, at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, 1210 SCENIC DRIVE SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta.
