It is with very heavy hearts we announce that Eddy Baldridge of Hill Spring, beloved husband of Diane Baldridge, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 75 years. 

Known affectionately to many as Big Guy, Eddy had a magnetic personality and made friends easily everywhere he went. He was charming, funny, and compassionate, and had a gift for making people feel at ease. He had a quick wit and loved to tell stories; he was the life of the party everywhere he went. Big Guy loved his family deeply and unconditionally, welcomed new people he met with open arms, and always made sure everyone was looked out for and taken care of. Big Guy was a passionate sports fan, and he especially loved racing cars, watching NASCAR, the Calgary Flames, and watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play hockey, basketball, and softball. In retirement, Big Guy could be usually found taking care of his yard, riding his mower around town, tending to his garden, building bird houses, and enjoying his outdoor patio.

Along with his loving wife Diane, Eddy will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his three children Angie, Jason (Lynnette) and Eddy; his five grandchildren Deanna (Steve), Kylie (Mike), Christopher, Zak and Beau; and his two great-grandsons, William and Edward.

He is also remembered fondly by his brothers Bill (Susan) and Rick (Virginia); his sister Glenda; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He is predeceased by his sister Irma and brother-in-law Bryan. 

A celebration of Eddy’s life will be held at a later date not yet known. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, Alberta Cancer Foundation: albertacancer.ca/in-memory.
