Augustine Knotek

MR. AUGUSTINE (GUS) KNOTEK of Lethbridge passed away suddenly on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the age of 81 years.

Gus was born July 16, 1929 in Rohoznik, Slovakia to Mike and Maria Knotek. After coming to Canada in 1938, he attended school in Barnwell. Gus worked in the sugar beet fields with his mother and father in Barnwell until they bought a farm in Turin in the 1940's. They farmed there for many years and retired about twenty years ago, then moved to Lethbridge. Gus loved to fly, and flew as often as possible. Gus was a member of the Legion, and the Lethbridge Flying Club. Gus is survived by his relatives in Slovakia.

At Gus' request, no funeral service will be held.
