Arthur Loewen

MR. ARTHUR PETER LOEWEN of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Tillie Loewen, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the age of 85 years.

He was born on December 19, 1926 to Peter and Elisabeth Loewen at Roland, Manitoba. On May 4, 1952, he married Tillie Plett, and just recently they were able to celebrate 60 years together.

Besides his loving wife, Art is survived by his 2 daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Vrieling of Salmon Arm, BC, Brenda (Richard) Harter of Lethbridge, AB, and one son, Wayne Loewen of Penticton, BC (Debbie Loewen) of Vancouver, BC.

Grandchildren are Jessica Loewen, Devon Harter, Desiree Loewen, Shawn Harter, Candice Harter, Kevin Vrieling, and Carly Vrieling.

He is also survived by 2 sisters, Margaret Friesen of Winnipeg, MB and Doreen Marks of Kelowna, BC and 2 sisters-in-law.

Art was predeceased by his parents, two children; Bernita and Jerry, brothers; Jack, Lorne, Tom, and Marvin, 2 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law.

Following a private family interment at Archmount Cemetery, a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 4717 - 24 Ave South, Lethbridge with Pastor Dave Acree, officiating.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at West Highlands Centre for the love and kindness they showed to Art during the last few years of his life.
