Anne Alm

ANNE WRONDING ALM of Lethbridge, was born on October 21, 1928 in Copenhagen, Denmark and passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday February 26, 2011 at the age of 82 years.

When Anne was a young child her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Picture Butte where Anne attended school. In 1953 Anne married Andrew Alm of Iron Springs. Anne and Andy operated the Iron Springs Post office until 1966 when they moved to Coaldale and Anne continued working for the Public Service at the Coaldale Post Office until her retirement in 1980. Anne was an active member and participant with the Nord-Bridge Seniors where she enjoyed her afternoon card games (especially Cribbage and Military Whist). Anne was also a Life- Member with the VASA Order of America.

Anne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Andrew (Andy) Alm and by her three daughters, Sandra Jamieson (Acadia Valley, AB), Karen Alm (Lethbridge, AB) , and Teresa Alm (Kingston, ON); two grandchildren Nicole Staddon ( Plattsville, ON) and Matthew Jamieson (Wallace Town, ON); as well as four great- grandchildren, Wyatt and Trent Staddon and Emily and Elizabeth Jamieson. For a number of years Anne has not been able to travel and therefore she treasured the visits in recent years from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that came to visit from Ontario. The walls of her home are adorned with pictures of her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Anne was predeceased by her parents Viggo and Asta Hage, sister Evelyn Hage and infant brother Johnny.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB with Pastor Graham Bretherick, officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre, 1904-13 Ave. North, Lethbridge, AB, T1H 4W9 or to a charity of your choice.
