Anna Zacchinga

MRS. ANNA ZACCHIGNA of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. John Zacchigna, passed away at the St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the age of 91 years.

Born, raised and educated in Istria, Italy. Anna emigrated to Canada on March 8, 1957 with her husband and sons.

Anna settled in Taber, Alberta for a period of time before moving to Lethbridge in the early 1960s. After moving to Lethbridge, Anna and Giovanni began their own janitorial business. Anna's interests centred around spending time with her family, many dear friends, and her prized garden. A devout catholic, Anna was a long time member of St. Patrick's Church. A caring and generous person, Anna spent many hours visiting and supporting ill friends.

Anna is survived by her two sons Sergio of Lethbridge, Vittorio of Calgary; grandchildren Dino of Kelowna, Lori-Dana of Calgary, Fabio of Calgary; and sister Gisella Giugovaz of Yugoslavia.

Besides her loving husband Giovanni, Anna was predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Antonia Doz; brothers Giorgio Doz, Berto Doz, Gidio Doz; and sister Marcella Vuch.

A Prayer Service (vigil rites) will be held at 7:00pm, on Friday, July 3, 2009, at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am, on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the ST. PATRICKS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 318 - 10 St., S., Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Raul Hernandez celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
