Albert Manechyn

Went peacefully to be with the Lord, from the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on September 5, 2007, MR. ALBERT JAN MANESCHYN, beloved husband of the late Jacoba (van den Berg) Maneschyn.

Albert was born to Jan Hendrik and Gezina Wilhelmina Maneschijn on February 22, 1921 in Nijverdal, The Netherlands. He married Jacoba on December 16, 1948. In 1957 they emigrated to Alberta with 4 children. 3 more children were born in Lethbridge, where the family made their home until 1969 when they moved to Calgary. They retired to Kelowna in 1986. In 2000 they returned to Lethbridge to be closer to family.

Albert's love for the Lord was the driving force behind his commitment to his family, his friends, his church, and his work. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor that brightened the lives of everyone he met.

Albert is survived by his 5 daughters and 2 sons, Margaret (Farrel) Palmer of Vermilion, Wilma (Pat) Klyne of Calgary, Hank (Dicksy) of Lethbridge, Chris (Dianne) of Leduc, Annette (Rick) Baerg of Rosemary, Jacqueline (Conrad) Loewen of Ladner, BC, Ellen (Brent) Harder of Calgary; 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister in the Netherlands, Sientje; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his loving wife, Jacoba in Lethbridge, and his parents, 7 brothers, and 3 sisters in the Netherlands - Hermannus, Hendrika, Mannus, Jan (1), Zus, Jenneken, Henk, Johan, Jan (2), and Jan (3).

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 10, 2007 at the EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 4717 - 24 Ave South, Lethbridge with Pastor Dave Acree, officiating.
