Send Flowers

Albert Noel Chamberlain, affectionately known as Bert, passed away on October 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, friendship, and cherished memories.

Bert grew up in Tugaske, Saskatchewan, where he developed a love of sports, particularly hockey. After working briefly for CP Rail, he followed his dream of joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

In 1955, Bert began his 33-year RCMP career after training in Ottawa. He served in several Alberta communities, including Red Deer, Lethbridge, Picture Butte, Pincher Creek, Cochrane, and Innisfail, before moving to the Crowsnest Pass, where he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and retired in 1990.

It was in Lethbridge that he met the love of his life and lifetime partner, Jessie Hammon, who he married in 1961 and shared 65 wonderful years together.

Bert's commitment to helping others earned him many honors, including the Order of St. John, presented by Governor General Jeanne Sauvé. Beyond his service, he enjoyed curling, golf, hockey, baseball, and camping.  Known for his humor and storytelling, Bert brought laughter and joy to those around him.

Above all, Bert cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jessie; son Brian; daughter Janice (Brad), grandchildren Meagan, Aimee, and Jerry (Paige); and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Amy & Noel Chamberlain, sister Ruth Hartell (Lorne) mother-in-law, Marian Hammon, and father-in-law Earl Hammon.

Bert will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud Mountie, loyal friend, and a man who truly enjoyed life. His stories, laughter, and the memories he created will live on in all who knew him.

Rest peacefully, Bert. Your stories will be told, your laughter will be remembered, and your love will live on in all of us. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.

With respect for Bert’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) or Arthritis Society Canada (www.arthritis.ca).  Condolences may be registered at www.mbfunerals.com.
