He will be sadly missed by all.
Albert was born in Zhitomir Ukraine. He and his family immigrated to Canada in the spring of 1952. They settled in Picture Butte, Ab working the sugar beets for a few years. He would always talk about the days he walked from Picture Butte to Lethbridge. He then got a job with the CPR in Southern Alberta. Eventually he moved his way to Calgary and worked in the CPR Ogden Shops. After the Ogden shops he moved to Banff area and worked the rails there. He always talked about his bunk house.
In 1962 Albert met the love of his life, Edna and in 1965 they married and moved to Calgary. There he worked as an auto mechanic for over 20 years.
When he and Edna retired they moved to Coaldale in 1996. Albert became the great gardener and had the world's biggest zucchini. He was the best handyman, always fixing and repairing. Everyone in Coaldale knew him with his 3 wheeler bike (the horse) and his walking to 7-11 for his bi-weekly lotto tickets.
Albert was a fun, caring, very generous man. He was a strong-willed man where nothing was too much for him to accomplish. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to make people laugh, especially with his great story telling which he loved to repeat over and over about all his life adventures. We will miss you so much, until we meet again.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Albert may be made to the Salvation Army, 1811-2 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 2C9.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2012 at 2:00PM in the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB with Pastor Jason Anderson, officiating.
