JANZEN, ABRAM

Abe passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2012 in the company of family and surrounded by love and prayers.

He was born on May 6, 1931 in Osterwick, Ukraine and moved to Coaldale, Alberta in 1948 where he met his true love, Erna. Abe married Erna (nee Klassen) on June 20, 1954 and bought her a dozen roses every year for their anniversary - 58 in all. Abe is survived by his wife Erna and their five daughters: Kathy (Stan), Anne (Harvey), Anita (Keith), Lori (Ken), and Irma (Stephen), as well as seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brothers Bill (Dorothy), Jake (Herta), Peter, in-laws Edward (Mary) Wiebe and Jane Janzen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Abram and Anna Janzen, his sister Elizabeth Wiebe, and brother Victor Janzen.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:30pm and 8:30pm on Friday, July 13, 2012 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 - 17 Street, Coaldale, with Reverend George Klassen and Pastor Lillian Thompson, officiating.
