ABRAHAM ""ABE"" HENRY PLETT passed away in Lethbridge on May 26, 2008 at the age of 64 years. Abe was born on September 16, 1943 in Bassano, AB and resided in Gem, AB for a short time before moving to Coaldale.
Abe is predeceased by his father Henry, Mother Mary sisters Frieda and Dora and brothers Walter and Jack. Abe is survived by his wife Judy, son Thomas, daughter Tammy Croissant (Chad) and grandchildren Christina and Staddon. Also his brothers and sisters Pete (Colleen), Nick (Eddie), Lee Borrows (Alf), Olga Zingle (Roger), Bill (Vilma), Carl (Karen), Irene DelCollo (frank), Elvera Cyre, David and Martha Green (Bob).
Abe met Judy in 1961, married in 1965 and resided in Lethbridge until the time of his passing. They were blessed with two children, Thomas, now 38 and Tammy 37.
In 1975, Abe ventured to Pincher Creek to operate his own business, Pincher Auto Wreckers, and then expanded into Lethbridge with a second outlet, Lethbridge Used Auto Parts, 8 years later. In 2002, he sold both businesses but continued working in the industry until his recent illness.
Abe had a passion for helping people and sharing his Faith in God. He spent many years in the Prison Ministry, teaching about God's grace, love and forgiveness and in the Church Bus Ministry, helping and encouraging people to come to church; those who would otherwise not be able to. He was always looking for a way to give and show God's love.
A private fellowship for family and close friends will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW FUNERAL CHAPELS LTD. 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
A Memorial Service will be held on at 2:00pm Friday, May 30, 2008 at PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 - 15 Ave North with Pastor Barry Seifert officiating; reception in the lower hall following the service. There will be a private family burial on Saturday, May 31, 2008.
In lieu of flowers, a collection will be accepted at the memorial service for the purchase of books for the prison chapel.
