Valerie Doreen Coe (Hannah) lost her battle with Alzheimer's disease on January 31st, 2019 at the age of 64. It wasn't a fair fight and it wasn't pretty, but she did her best to maintain her dignity and hold her head high through it all. My mom was the strongest woman I’ve ever met. She wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything. She loved with all of her heart and gave with everything that she had.
Valerie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.
Valerie had the exceptional and unique gift of her husband, Paul. He sat and watched her leave, little by little as she faded over the years, but he was always there as long as she needed him through their long goodbye.
Leaving behind to mourn are her husband Paul, her children Carla (Robert) Heintz, Kyle (Erin) Miles, her mother Irma Hannah, her sister Carol (Len) Green, Paul's children Taylor (Brandie) Coe, Mike (Sonja) Coe, Ashley (Chris) Gnyra and Travis (Ali) Coe. Valerie also leaves behind her grandchildren Scarlet, Hannah, Molly, Owen, Sadie, Brady, Dawson, and Kasen as well as her very much-loved niece Janna (Paul) Garneau and their children Inara and Zander, and her nephew Avery (Pat) Green.
A heartfelt thank you to all the hard-working staff at the Good Samaritan's Society for your love and care of Valerie these past years.
Family & friends are invited to a Celebration of Valerie's Life from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm, on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at THE GALT MUSEUM, 502 1 Street South, in Lethbridge, Alberta.
We are comforted knowing that Valerie Coe knows who Valerie Coe is again.
